A journey from Rome back home

This blog will describe the preparation and log of a walking trip from Rome to my hometown Antwerp. It will be a ‘100 day – 2000 km’ walk mostly using existing long distance tracks. The road will start with the Francis’s path between Rome and La Verna, then it will follow the ‘GEA’ route over the Apennines, after crossing the Po valley, the Splügen pass will be taken in the Alps, the western road in the black forest in Germany will lead me to the low countries.

Today Luc walked trough the valley of Riv de Serchio where there are a lot of nice villages. After a journey of 32km he arrived safely at a camping place, height 1050m, where Luc can sleep in a trailer. He hopes to get to the Via Francigena tomorrow.
